  1. I have a grandaughter who has a child, she is a single parent and having a very tough time making ends meet. She barely has enought money to survive. |
Would it be possible for your organization to help her?

    • I think this is a wonderful idea! When I’ve had the resources in my own life, I’ve tried to help as many people as I can. With this economy and some many people suffering, I’d love to help out in my community too! Any and all advise on how to do this (including how to set up the web site) would be greatly appreciated.
      Thank you,
      Lynn

  6. Hello there! I was just watching you on Ellen and I LOVE YOU!! What an amazing person you must be. Thank you for being you. I work at Empire Beauty School in Arizona and we have one student who I consider amazing. She has 5 children and is a single mother. She takes 5 buses every day to get to school and of course 5 buses every evening to get home (She drops one child off per stop). She is ALWAYS smiling and always has a positive attitude. She is coming to cosmetology school to better herself for her children. Is there any way that you could find someone to help her with a bus pass for the phoenix area? So many of our students struggle to get the money just for their bus pass to get to and from school and no one can help. They are either $5.50 per day or $55 per month. They just don’t have the money!! If they don’t have the money for the pass, they can’t come to school, and their grades suffer…which can cause them to be dropped. Please let me know your thoughts and ideas. Keep doing what you’re doing! You inspire me to want to do what you do!

    • Donna,

Though I’m not sure how much of this young lady’s personal financial situation you’re aware of; but, is she receiving child care assistance through the state of Arizona? One of the requisites for child care assistance is that the mother attend school or work at least 20 hrs. wkly. Is it possible that the state has a stipend program that may be able to assist with the cost of transportation?

Have you considered having members of the community sponsor her family? You can promote the idea to community members by simply letting them know that “for the cost of a cup of Starbuck’s coffee…” or “for the cost of lunch at McDonald’s…” ($5.50 daily) or “for less than two dollars a day…” ($55/30 days) this mother would have a chance to continue pursuit of her education. You could begin this month and possibly have something for her at Christmastime.

      Best to you!

I’m the Founder & CEO of The Infinity Initiative; a 501 (c)(3) organization based in Louisiana (recently expanded to Georgia, wooo hooo!!) that provides positive youth development for girls ages 12-21. When you get a chance, shoot me an e-mail I’d like to find out if there’s a way that we can collaborate on some things.

Congratulations and I hope you’re enjoying your new car!

    Best to you,

  12. Hi, I just saw your (previously taped) appearance on Ellen’s show, and I am so blessed to find still more people in this wonderful country who are carrying out God’s will on earth!!!!

My husband and I belong to really great church with a heart towards outreach ministries. Besides our Food Pantry and Bus (van) ministries, we also have a community support shop which offers free household items to needy families. I would love to learn more about setting up a barter system in the area. I’ll go check on your other links to find resources, and hopefully we can eventually become one of your links!

God Bless You this beautiful Christmas Season!!!

  13. Hello, I saw you on Ellen, as well and am so happy you are doing what you are doing. I am not too far from you, in San Diego, and I have started a similar website, but focusing on navigating the social services system and other resources for struggling families and individuals in San Diego. It is a system that is very underfunded and downright broken! I believe it takes community initiative to help people these days, as the safety nets in place seem to be failing, especially in CA. I would love to mutually link up with your website. Also, I am looking for help and expansion of my site for the San Diego area, if you know anyone. I am in need of a voice for families with children (as I do not have any). Still editing and adding to my blog, but there is good info on there already. Thanks and blessings to you!

  15. I would love to get this program going in my community. My family is going through some very tough times and even though my husband and I have worked hard all our lives and helped others, my husband has cancer, we were both laid off, have two children in college and get turned down for any type of assistance we apply too. I know so many people in my community that are having difficult times. Could I get any and all information to help me start this in my community (including how to set up the web site)? I would gratefully appreciate it.
    Thank you,
    Lynn

    • Hello Lynn,

This type of program is not hard to set up at all. Just simply do research and and footwork to get organizations and businesses to donate to your cause. Try to think of things that your community can use and what would be beneficial and you will see your website start to come together. I wish you well and if you have any other questions please email Someonehelpedme@gmail.com

      Best Regards,

  16. Reneisha,

I saw the Ellen show, and I’m interested in donating woman and teen girl clothing to the women who live in shelters that you briefly mentioned on the show, and that you said you support. Please let me know where it is I need to send the gently used clothes. Keep up the good work! You’re inspirational. I also have some paperback novels that I would like to donate, let me know if there’s any use for such a donation. 🙂 Thanks!

  17. Reneisha,

It was such a pleasure to meet you today. I am very impressed with your current resume and I know you are just beginning. Congratulations on holding the title for the most community service hours worked in California! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you in any of your endeavors, including science and math tutoring if you need it while you work on your next degree.

  20. Hi,
I’m a single mom who works forty hours, and just finished my associates in arts of information technology. I will be going back for my bachelors in October. I would like to get a better job to support my children better, get a better home, car, etc.
I have a hard time finding a better job because of my teeth. I do not have insurance. I have tried to save money for me to get my teeth fixed but something always comes up where I need to use that money. I’m not asking for a complete hand out, I will do anything in my power to either help the person or organization that helps me. I live in the south east part of Michigan, and I am willing to drive 50 miles to help someone that can help me. Thank You for reading my comment.
